Since 2004, CTSgroup have been providing professional hands on the job gas training to both our own trainees and students from colleges and centres throughout the UK. This is where we truly excel. Your hands on training is completed in real life properties in a lead engineer role as if you are already a gas engineer. After spending a period of time with one of our engineers or contractors, you will spend time with our accredited NVQ field assessors where you, and only you will be undertaking all the gas work (under supervision) as if you are already qualified. This will help prepare you for when you graduate and and satisfy our training division and your local college that your training has been completed to industry standards.
Portfolio Building For Student not Training With Us
If you are looking for a work placement in gas then you have come to the right place. This stage is a critical part of your learning program. The gas industry is an assessment based industry where you need to prove 100% competence, and just like learning to drive, those students who have started gas courses without an employer or work placement need to understand that they wouldn't sign up for driving lessons only to discover that only the theory and test were included in the price. We can offer your work placement and training support / employer sponsorship through our own engineering division.
Portfolio Building Costs
The cost of portfolio building depends on many factors. Who your certification body is, what requirements your training provider has, and where in the UK you Live. We can provide work experience at most locations in the UK, and our prices start at £430 per week to £599 week. Students will be allocated to a gas registered engineer who will mentor them through this period. You will shadow the gas engineer collating the evidence and experience needed to sit your acs gas assessments. Depending on your provider some students are able to complete in as little as 2 weeks, others require 3 to 6 weeks. The more time required the lower the price. We can also provide lead engineer training where instead of shadowing you are given the tools and supervised by a qualified gas registered assessor in real life properties.. Costs for this are greater but it is well worth having a day or two with an assessor to build confidence.
These images represent just a handful of the thousands of on the job training sessions we have taken our students to in preparation for going it alone on graduation. All of the students seen here have completed their gas courses with us, and gone on to work in the gas industry.
